Newsletter 22/3/2024
From the Principal:
Dear Parents and Carers,
During Term 2 we will be delighted to welcome Mr Paul Mannion back as Acting Principal for the term whilst I take Principal Renewal Leave and also Long Service Leave. For those interested yes I am doing something special - I am heading to Spain for 6 weeks and then coming home to be a mum - something I have not done for 17 years! I am very much looking forward to the break and know that I will be itching to come back by the time Term 3 comes around. Paul is well known by many in our community as he was our Deputy Principal here for two years in 2021 and 2022. He and Michelle will continue to run the school and will be only too happy to speak with you at any time.
Over the coming weeks, we will be installing some raised vegetable/flower beds in both the Kindergarten and main playgrounds. These will give our children not only a quiet play space but also a learning environment for use by all classes.
Kind regards,
Mary
Holy Week:
This coming week we begin Holy Week. Holy Week is the most significant week in Catholicism. Spanning from Palm Sunday to Holy Saturday, it marks the final stretch before Easter Sunday, the celebration of Jesus' Resurrection. During this sacred week, Catholics pray and reflect on the profound journey of Jesus’ suffering, sacrifice, and victory over death. It starts on Palm Sunday, a day that commemorates Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. Holy Thursday celebrates the Last Supper and the institution of the Eucharist while Good Friday reflects on Jesus’ death by crucifixion. Throughout this week, Catholics reflect on the emotional intensity of Jesus' Passion, contemplate His boundless love and mercy, and anticipate the joyous hope of His Resurrection. An intentional Holy Week can serve as a spiritual pilgrimage that deepens our faith.
